The School Kits WoS Project

First Church’s Friendship Class, made up of older adults, prepared for the August 21-22, 2015 Weekend of Service (WoS) by setting the goal of preparing 100 school kits. Money ($322.29) was collected from class members and the tax-free state sales were taken advantage of to purchase the needed supplies. Ruth Boyers sewed all 100 bags while H.G. and Jean Texiere did the shopping. H.G. and Jean had to make multiple trips to stores because they could only buy limited amounts each trip. In order to cover shipment of the school kits, $200 was donated from the class treasury. Photos from the Weekend of Service School Kits Project are featured below.
